For Immediate Release --AMERICAN FIRST CREDIT UNION (AFCU) (Laguna Hills, California) -April 22, 2002-AMERICAN FIRST CREDIT UNION (AFCU) today announced the results of their auto loan promotion created in conjunction with BIG MAN CREATIVE. AFCU's "Better Than 0%" promotion ran 01/01/02 - 03/31/02, during which time the credit union funded 1018 loans for a total of $18.3 million in loan balances. The promotion was initially scheduled to run for a two month time period, but was so successful that it was extended for an additional month. The campaign's main focus was in the fiercely competitive area of auto loan services. AFCU needed a way to compete with the perceived value of auto manufacturers' "0% Financing" offers. AFCU and BIG MAN CREATIVE developed the campaign which included in-branch elements consisting of 4 posters of various sizes, 2 postcards, statement inserts, as well as 2 separate direct mail pieces. The direct mail pieces targeted both current credit union members and served as an introduction to potential members in the community at large.
